Special Report to Blowing Rock News by University News Service. August 6, 2011. BOONE – Terry Edwards has been named interim director of internal audits at Appalachian State University effective Aug. 1.
Edwards replaces Dalene Mast, who served as interim director for the past six years. Mast retired at the end of July after a 37-year career at the university, including 13 years in the Office of Internal Audits.

“I am pleased Terry is assuming the role of interim director while the university conducts a national search to fill the position,” said Chancellor Kenneth E. Peacock. “With 28 years of experience in the office, Terry will ensure that the office’s work continues to be conducted with the same high standards set by Mrs. Mast’s years of experience.”

Edwards has worked as an auditor in the Office of Internal Audits since 1983. He is a 1972 graduate of Appalachian.

“I also would like to thank Dalene Mast for her outstanding leadership of the Office of Internal Audits,” Peacock said. “Her professionalism, diligence to detail and adherence to professional standards related to internal auditing, resulted in Appalachian receiving outstanding reports from the N.C. Office of the State Auditor during her tenure.”
