BLOWING ROCK -- Retired attorney and longtime Rotary member Bill Bauknight and his wife, Margaret, were on hand Monday as members of The Rotary Club of Blowing Rock said good bye and extended their warm wishes.  The Bauknights are moving to a retirement community in Williamsburg, Virginia.

September 24, 2011. BLOWING ROCK -- High Country artist Jay Winston, a contemporary painter who only paints for charity, will have some of his artwork on display on Sunday, September 25, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, in the Rustic gallery and gift shop (next door to Cabin Fever and Footsloggers, in Blowing Rock). Rustic has raised over $2,000 so far this year through the sales of Winston's paintings. Blowing Rock residents and visitors are invited to stop by to enjoy the refreshments and great artwork, says Rustic owner Tammie Jolly.

Staff Report. September 18, 2011. BLOWING ROCK -- The Appalachian Women’s Fund (AWF) announced on Sunday its completion of grant allocations totalling $68,000 -- a new record for the organization -- to 12 non-profit agencies serving impoverished women and children in the High Country.

BLOWING ROCK -- "We're going to have fun," proclaimed new Rotary District 7670 (Western North Carolina) Governor Bill Parker Monday night, as he and wife Barbara donned clown noses to the delight of almost 150 members and guests of The Rotary Club of Blowing Rock, at Chetola Mountain Resort & Spa.  It was a fun moment in an otherwise serious affair: two events rolled into one.
