"Dunn Era" Begins for Blowing Rock Rotary
Dunn led his first Board of Directors meeting on Monday, starting and finishing on time while covering a range of organization issues, including comments from the incoming District 7670 Governor, Bill Parker, himself a former President of Blowing Rock Rotary. In the near 70-year history of Blowing Rock Rotary, Parker is the first member of the club to be selected as District Governor.
"Based on what the many District officers experienced when they came for the June 27th annual meeting and installation banquet," Parker told the Blowing Rock board members on Monday, "you knocked their socks off. They were impressed by our facilities (Chetola). They were impressed by the spirit of the club and how much fun we have. And they were impressed by how we did things in honoring our club members for their service to the club, as well as their many services in the Blowing Rock community and, more broadly, Blowing Rock members' contributions to Rotary International."
Dunn welcomes a deftly assembled mix of veteran Rotary members and relative newcomers into leadership positions, including:

- Manning gates at Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show
- Planning and execution of the Jerry Burns Memorial Charity Golf Tournament
- Disbursement of funds to non-profit agencies budgeted
- International relief trips to Belize
- The Dictionary Project, providing reference books to students in every school in the region
- Career Day, serving all 8th graders in Watauga County
- Support for Rotoract and Interact in the schools
- Student of the month recognition at Blowing Rock School
