Fire at Old Watauga High School

Watauga County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation are seeking information regarding the February 14, 2012 fire at the old Watauga High School. A witness reported seeing a white Subaru Outback with Virginia license tag in the area between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The witness also reported that there were two white males in their thirties who were looking around the property and into the windows of the school. Sheriff Hagaman advises all citizens of Watauga County and visitors to the area that the old high school property is considered very dangerous and unsafe. Anyone found inside the building is subject to immediate arrest by law enforcement authorities.
