Recycling Blowing Rock History

BLOWING ROCK -- What became U.S. 321 has wound its way up the mountain from Lenoir and through Blowing Rock for many generations of High Country residents and visitors. Most of the modifications to the path of the highway were relatively minor -- until the recently launched widening project that is currently displacing a multitude of buildings, boulders, plants and shrubbery, and just plain dirt. Memorial Day Service Scheduled at ASU Veterans' Memorial, May 27
Special Report to Blowing Rock News from University News Service. By Jane Nicholson. May 21, 2013. BOONE—Appalachian State University will hold a Memorial Day ceremony May 27 at 7:30 a.m. at the Veterans’ Memorial on the west side of the Dougherty Administration Building. The ceremony will honor thosewho died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. The public is invited to attend.
