BLOWING ROCK -- With a mix of cartoon characters, superheros, witches, monsters, vampire and hobgoblins of every description, classes at Blowing Rock School were interrupted Friday morning for the annual Halloween Parade and Door Decorating Contest. It was a day when art and creativity took precedence over readin', ritin' and 'rithmetic! Photos by David Rogers

Student costume winners were (prizes to winners were tickets to "Ghoul School"):

Taya Boyer

Top prizes for faculty doors wet to Mrs. Knight's 1st grade class and Mrs. Trimble's 4th grade class. The prizes include a pizza party for students and their teacher.

Separately, Maya Ibbotson and Kortney Coffey were recognized as the "top sellers" for the Nancy Daniels fundraising campaign, selling Christmas-related gift wrapping, candies, and miscellaneous holiday themed items.
