By David Rogers. August 5, 2011. BLOWING ROCK -- From special hats to special "outfits," the Blowing Rock Fashion Show & Luncheon is always a big hit with the women of the community. This year's event was no exception, from the introduction of Harriet Davant as Honorary Chairwoman, to the naming of Kim Rogers as "2011 Woman of the Year", to a sumptious lunch prepared by Blowing Rock Country Club, and of course to the fashion show.

The fashion show featured three segments, with 25 models rotating through each segment -- including three men -- with apparel chosen for them and supplied by 13 downtown merchants, including Almost Rodeo Drive, Celeste's, Couture by Finley House, Doncaster Outlet, Fig Leaf, Flora Ottimer's Children's Boutique, Footsloggers, J.W. Tweeds, Monkee's, 100 West Union, Sassyfras, Sister Act, and Tazmaraz.
