The theme was "A Taste of Ethiopia and South Africa", and celebrated the Boone-based Wine to Water non-profit's increasingly important role in helping Third World communities gain access to supplies of clean drinking water. Wine to Water founder Doc Hendley was recognized in 2009 by the CNN television network as a "Top 10 Hero" for his efforts to bring this most basic human needs to deprived populations, primarily in Africa and Indonesia.

Guests of Uncork! were treated to tapas-style food and tastings of six different wines -- all while enjoying a brilliant Spring evening and sunset at the incomparable Crestwood venue.

The Blue Ridge Wine & Food Festival is hosted and produced by the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce.  Uncork! The Festival was a collaboration of the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce, Crestwood Resort, Climbing the Walls (Blowing Rock), Events by Elizabeth Ashley (Boone), The Gamekeeper (Blowing Rock), The Table at Crestwood (Blowing Rock) and Wine to Water (Boone).
